At first I was sure I'd give you Yamato but now I can see also quite a bit of Koushirou. Calm on the outside, emotional on the inside, argumentative, outspoken, secretive all sound like Yamato. A lot of your personality types though, along with being very self-critical, analytical, overly-curious sound too much like Koushirou, though he can be kind of secretive himself. Both of them are also pretty self-made, if you consider their situations with families, at least. I think I will go with Koushirou in the end even if I'm still being a bit hesitant. I am leaning more towards him mainly because of your dislike of being alone (Yamato is the loner of the group, after all), and not liking petty fights whereas... well, he did engage in fight with Taichi quite often, even if half of he time they weren't petty. Koushirou, on the other hands, enjoys debates but stays away from fighting otherwise. To me, he could be easily described as easy-going and intense, depending on what side of him you see. Not going to lie, I kind of just assumed I'd say Yamato for you right from the get-go, lolz. Still, now that I think more about it, I can definitely see where the Koushiro vote is coming from...hnn, I think I'm going to go with a Koushiro vote, although I'm kind of torn between him and Yamato. I always sort of saw Koushiro as being slightly more cynical than some of the other characters, but he's got his own sense of idealism too. He's definitely passionate about the things he cares about and I could see him being called "easy-going + intense" at least since he was kind of easy-going up until something major happened, then he'd get pretty intense. He's not really as argumentative as Yamato tended to be, but Koushiro was outspoken and blunt in the sense that he spoke his mind whenever he felt it was necessary...sometimes regardless of what the other characters thought. I could see elements of both Yamato and Koushiro at times throughout your application...and I think I'm leaning the most towards a Koushiro vote overall. He can sometimes seem contradictory or random depending on the situation ("I've been called easy-going + intense, reckless + planned, among other things." actually kind of fits from how I remember some of the story scenes with him going).

He can be blunt at times and argumentative, and will speak his mind if he feels strongly about something. He's also rather "self-made" in terms of his capabilities, and I could see him fitting the INTJ personality type with similar discrepancies (not the quietest introvert and he offers support to others through the use of practical advice too). I could see him fitting for The Investigator personality type as well in a lot of ways!

Good lord, it's been years since I've seen this series... I too was all ready to vote you as Yamato, but when I really think about it Koushiro may be a slightly better fit for you XD Analytical, independent, calm-minded, clever, open-minded, and curious are all traits that I remember fitting Koushiro... Plus I think he can be self-critical and secretive and the way others who know you describe you fit fairly well (I don't think he fits being snarky though since that really seems to fit Yamato better XD) He's persistent, introverted, confident when he knows what he's doing, and to a certain degree he can be a bit of a background leader. (That trait also fits Yamato... Damn you really are quite the mix XD) I also think that Koushiro enjoys debate but doesn't quite care for drama like you do :)
