Another bundle of bunnies
Mysty Rain, our first successful doe breeder rabbit gave birth last eve to a kindle of at least 8 but what appears to be 10 hopping bunnies. I would have to say that we are now into the bunny making way. It is time as well to start consuming Mysty Rain's first kindle. We have found rabbit meat to be quite tasty. Especially the ribs. Totally justifies my diet of long standing. I've always eated the fatty bits. Yummy.
We love the rabbit and can raise it, but we eat the fat, not scrape it all off, and supplement our cooking with pork fat at almost every opportunity. Caribou, Moose, and Bear are not readily available unfortunately, but we eat a lot of eggs and fresh vegies, and still supplement our table with pork and beef and fish.
Getting off of and away from the processed food from the grocery stores is ever so much harder than it looks. I continue to take steps in that direction.
