I'm actually going to try and do a season review/thoughts on Elementary. It's such a weird experience for me with that show, because I truly watched it out of spite for BBC Sherlock.
In particular the gender issues and the way they handled Irene really interest me.
I had to chuckle at your "watch out of spite for BBC Sherlock."
In my circle of (real-life) friends, a good number of them are die-hard BBC/Anglophiles. I thought that JLM would be enough of a draw to get them watching, but the power of BBC was just too strong. I went into the show expecting it to be different and while there were some episodes that were formulaic CBS procedural, overall I think they did a good job presenting what makes Sherlock interesting.
