Helping Luffy become Pirate King is something that Naruto would do. He's just too kind-hearted not to. As for who can finish a novel in thirty days...Jiraiya hands down. He is a ninja after all and he does do a lot of research. I'm sure he can write a novel within thirty days.

Ah but we also know that Shigure is talented to the extreme with getting his work done by deadline--mostly so he can make his publicist suffer thinking he hasn't done any of it. So he's obviously a very quick writer.

BTW, lias and I did have a discussion on whether sexy-no-jutsu would affect the Sohma males. The conversation ended inconclusive b/c we couldn't decide if the jutsu actually turned someone into a woman or if it was the appearance of woman.

I think it actually turns them into a woman because when Naruto henges into a giant-shuriken it'd be pretty lame if it couldn't actually cut anything... Plus for Sasuke to have thrown giant-shuriken!Naruto in the same manner as his other giant-shuriken (wow, it sounds really lame not knowing the proper term) the shape would have had to physically been the same. If it was just an illusion/appearance it would have been difficult for him to throw Naruto through the air, right? Well, since we haven't actually seen him cut anything in that transformation I guess it's still just speculation.

BTW the idea of Naruto in Sexy no Jutsu hugging one of the Sohma males blows my mind. XD

I can't quite believe that Naruto would realistically lose to Luffy (that giving away MY vote) but helping him to become Pirate King, that I can see.

I voted Jiraiya as Shigure is a hell of a procrastinator, even if he does always finish by the deadline. I suspect they would both finish in time but Shigure would finish his last sentance in 29 days, 23 hours, and 59 minutes, which Jiraiya would have polished his up a day or two beforehand to allow for editing.

If anyone would vote Naruto died, I'd be immensely curious to know who and why.

Shigure's quick to work and just torments the editor sent to handle him, but I think most of his fun in getting the work done so fast is so he can look forward to tormenting the poor sap all the more. NaNoWriMo is more self-inflicted, so the tormentee editor probably won't be around. At least, that's my rationalization for voting Jiraiya.

Since when has Jiraiya been a fan of self-inflicted torment? I'm thinking the only reason he'd even do NaNoWriMo would be because somebody (Tsunade) bet him that he couldn't write a fine piece of literary smut in a month, and then he'd probably spend way too much time researching and have to rush the writing in a serious of all-nighters starting with day 27. Shigure at least has experience with the whole "writing every day" thing.

Naruto would help Luffy become Pirate King because Sasuke's not there anymore. He's too kind a person, and he might find Sasuke along the journey. Jiraiya's the winner, cause if it involves smut then Jiraiya's gonna be writing day and night.

But Jiraiya always writes smut, how will that make him write faster than normal?

I'm not that familiar with Naruto admittedly, but as nutty as Shigure is, he doesn't really break his promises/commitments, and he always has his writing finished on (or before) time.

If he has his editor involved, I'd bet on Shigure finishing on time (or hell, early), but not letting anyone know he's finished until 3 day to 2 weeks after the fact. If the editor isn't involved, he'll still finish, just wouldn't be secretive about it.
Oh Tohru~kuu~nn~! I have a scene from my new novel I'd really like you to act out~! ♥♥♥

As mentioned, my knowledge of Naruto was limited, but it seems like you'd have to get Jiraiya away from his "research" long enough to get him to write anything, much less to do NaNoWriMo.

When Shigure isn't doing family "duties" or teasing his editor about a supposedly incomplete manuscript, he's always in his office writing.

I am very disappointed that I can't go in favor of Naruto again this week. Jiraiya does not seem to be the person you'd initially favor to win because although he is a very popular writer in the Narutoverse, (as evident by his massive number of copies sold) he likes to take his time with his "research" and often looses track of his goals to write since he's so fixated on the girls he's peeping at ( ... )
