I think the Claymore has an advantage since she's basically made to hunt demons, right? And Inuyasha's main advantage seems to be plot armor/series longevity. :P
Not really. He's not only tough/strong (especially w/ his sword), but he's also very resilient. Not to mention if his sword gets knocked out of his hand, and he feels threatens, he turn into a more beastly demonic form too.
Not to mention that while Inuyasha is classified as shonen, it's written with a lot of shoujo POV. A lot of the longevity of the series was due to the building of a relationship between Inuyasha and Kagome and the interaction in that world. So you can't really look at that. And if you do, then well--every character has plot armor that is their advantage, not actual strength--even Alucard.
Well yeah, but doesn't part of his resilience come from having to save Kagome? Especially in major fights against ridiculously dangerous demons? Maybe it's not so much him having plot armor as him being her plot armor. >_>
I think the whole point of plot armor is the ability to pull off things that wouldn't normally make sense for them, right? So in Alucard's case, being redonkulously powerful/regenerative could be a plot point, but it's more a feature of the character. Integra on the other hand, could more likely be said to have plot armor.
Also, is Neuro in this category for monsters/demons? He might be a good nominee if he hasn't been already.. no idea who he'd fight tho. >_>
Part of the reason he can use his sword is because he has to use it "to protect." Kagome was the catalyst but not the only reason he can do what he does. And again, when his survival is tested, then he goes all demony and it doesn't matter either way.

Neuro is already in the bracket.

In the end I think that Clare would win. Inuyasha doesn't have the same capacity to kill that she does.
