Help

I backed out of the garage one day, and the sister of my landlord parked her car at an angle.  I didn't see it until I had started down the angle of the driveway and when I did see it, I'd hit it.  Now she wants me to pay her $250 for damages.  I can't afford to fix my own damages.  What should I do?  She shouldn't have parked so poorly in the ( Read more... )

Oh crap, that's bad. I don't know much about this stuff, but I'm guessing that if they were parked in a way that was illegal or in the way of traffic, you're not at fault, but otherwise you're responsible for your vehicle. *hugs*

Worst case scenario, even if you have to pay...I know that REALLY sucks, but $250 is pretty cheap for car damage. Usually just giving a car a dirty look will cost you between $500-$1000. But I know that $250 is still a lot of money, especially now when times are so tough. :(

Yeah. I'm as cheap and frugal as they come, but it really could be a lot worse than $250 if you're talking about car damage. In that sense, you're lucky. But still, I know how things like that really blow.
