Well, the bad news is, I'm going to just have to pay the $250.  The good news is (assuming they agree), I'll have them take it out of the $500 deposit I ALREADY paid for living here.  The remaining $250 I'll let them keep as well, because the moment my new apartment becomes available, I am GONE.  No 30-day notice.  Just blow out.  And never look

Question--is $250 the actual cost of repair? Or just a figure they picked? If it's the latter, write on the check "Paid in full for car repair" or have them sign a waiver that it's paid in full. That way they can't come after you later for more money.

Sadly, it's the bill. She went ahead and fixed it without letting me at least take it to my dealer for a better price. Whatever . . .
