aww ::hugs:: Yes Geisert probally had the best intention when he said that, don't let it bother you. Plus you still have two more years to refine yourself into a paper writing machine. I don't know what happen but this semester papers became a lot more fun and a lot less work to crank out. I know you are smart. I'm in classes with you, I know!

Your paper is probally great. No worries dear.

Amanda. Woman.

I don't think Geisert was saying, "Have self-confidence! Have it now! Make it magically appear!" All he was telling you is that you are smart and you need to work on your self-confidence. You need to realize it.
As for not wanting to repeat mistakes: no one wants to. But it happens, even if we try our hardest not to, it will happen. Are you reading that book I gave you? Are you? We cannot go through life obsessing over our mistakes. I'm not saying that's easy either -- not something you can do in one step -- but you have to accept the fact that mistakes happen and you will make them over and over again. And you know what? That makes you human. It doesn't make you bad: if you get a bad grade on a paper, you will still be the Amanda I love and the Amanda everyone else loves.
Geisert knows you are smart and he's trying to get you not to focus on your mistakes. Part of having confidence is understanding that you make mistakes. And I know you can do that ( ... )

I don't know if you've heard of this or not, but apparently mrs bb's son was in an accident last night/early this morning. Don't quote me on this because it could just be bad information but I think he died, so if you get the chance call mrs BB and see whats up/how she's doing.

You are a VERY smart and capable person, Amanda. I do agree with you that college really lets you see what your potential is, but even so, I still look at you as being more intelligent than me (just like I did in HS). So, it may be harder, but I beleive you are still a level above some others. It's like we move up, but we can't tell because the coursework seems more difficult to get through. I definitely felt that way when I wrote my essay last week. I was terrified that Kunz would think it was pathetic, but as she was reading it, it seemed that she really liked my ideas. I don't think Geisert knew what he was saying, really. What he meant to do was prepare you for the future when you might not have help, yet at the same time he does beleive that you can do it on your own. And I think you can too. It's not that you're totally insecure, you are just taking advantage of what's available now, and why not? I wish I had the courage to talk to teachers for help, but then I think they might not want to, so I do it alone. Asking for help ( ... )

I would think he was trying to be helpful, but you know how males are; they don't have a proper use of vocabulary. Nor the female sophistication with words. If he is making you feel so bad, then maybe you should tell him. You don't need any more pressure (let's face it: NONE of us do), and he should know (because he can't seem to figure it out on his own) that you can't handle it at the moment ( ... )
