I haven't updated in a while, so here's some fun stuff like con updates, a new mix, and answers to my music meme.
Katsucon, ConBust & AnimeBoston Reports
Over the past 3 months, I've been to 3 different cons and enjoyed a lot of Karaoke and Anime Name That Tune at all of them.
At Katsucon, the home of Anime Name That Tune, I won 3 prizes just from guessing the anime 3 different songs were from :) The 3 songs were GTO's ED2, Dalia from Angel Links, and the final ED to Shaman King.
At ConBust, while a tiny con in comparison, the contest still had its nice points, since it included jpop! I was 1 of the main 4 contestants and won first place :) This is how I ended up with the Cromartie High School DVD <3 One amusing song was Gravitation, which I got a point for naming the series, but not the song title, despite being against 3 girls LOL It was Sleepless Beauty
This past weekend at AnimeBoston, I got to Anime Name That Tune half an hour late, but still managed to get the most number of right answers in the audience. I was therefore the only one in the audience to get a prize more valuable than a pixie stick ^^ I got volume 3 of Flame of Rekka XD I think I only got 5 right:
-You're under Arrest OAV - 100MPH Courage OP
-Rizelmine - Hajimete shimasho OP
-Megami Paradise OP
-Juubee-chan ~secret of the lovely eyepatch~ OP
-Hime-chan no Ribbon ED (SMAP)
For the Hime-chan song it was funny, because the song started playing and both
ryodark, who was sitting in front of me, and I rose our hands first. Well, when the 2 contestants didn't know it,
ryodark guessed Weiss Kreuz, which is seriously what I was thinking at first. Then I was about to lower my hand, but then it suddenly came to me *cackles*
I can say that all 3 of those cons ran their contests better than we did at Genericon this year, so we'll have to work on it for Genericon 19 *cackles*
This weekend I sang 4 songs in karaoke:
-Full Metal Alchemist - Undo OP3 (Cool Joke)
-Sailor Moon Live Action - Kirari * Sailor Dream OP (Sae) [sang this one with sam lol]
-tetsu69 - shinkirou
-Rurouni Kenshin - 1/3 no junjou na kanjou ED6 (Siam Shade)
And I was on karaoke staff with
regalia31, so I was in the room a lot XD Songs that were popular... Gravitation, Naruto, Inu Yasha, FFX had a lot of songs sung from them. People sang a decent percentage of jrock, but I was a little disappointed to see very little jpop sung.
Since I was either working, sleeping, or busy; I didn't get to take many cosplay pics. So here's a small gallery I put together (okay, i lied -- i'll try to get a gallery up in a future post XD). One fun thing I could do as a staff member was to give out a slip of paper to costumers I thought had a neat/unique costume. When someone got 3 slips, they could turn them in for a blue ribbon to hang on their costume.
People I saw this weekend...
regalia31, Goki, Sam, Doug, Katja,
potassiumman, Jennifer, Desmond, some guy on tech I met at ConBust,
ryodark, Joe, Chloe, Kathy,
brend (Yuki from Genericon), Kyou from ConBust & Genericon, Hatsuharu from ConBust, Erica, Beth, Rachael, Erica's mom, Stephanie, Scott S., Sarah, Israel, Steve S.

Three of the tracks follow the Sakura theme for the time of the year. And tracks 10 through 13 would be the rap-ish section.
I'm baffled by the Love for Nana album. Sugar Guitar came off of it, but I'm not sure whether it's music that kind of goes with the original manga which started in 2000; or maybe a newer release; or even the movie that came out this year based on the manga. What I have figured out is that in the story, there are 2 very different girls, both named Nana. My best guess is that both of them end up in different bands, Black Stones and Trapnest. I'm intrigued by Nana in general now, though, since Love for Nana has some very prominent artists on it like Tommy heavenly6, tetsu69, abingdon boys school (which is TMR for some reason), Do As Infinity, Zone, and Ai Ootsuka.
