Ouch! No discounted parking for attendees not staying in the hotel block? Really? I thought being at the same hotel as last year and the year before that this would be a given. $25 dollar a day is ouch-tastic.

I donno, I pulled this straight from ALA's hotel site:

"The Anime Los Angeles room block closes on Wednesday, December 22, 2010. You must make a reservation by this date in order to receive the reduced rate. The Anime Los Angeles reduced parking rate is only available for rooms within our rate block."

Sounds like we're on our own if we do not have a hotel room. I will double check on the cosplay.com thread, though, so thanks for pointing me to it.

I just park my the park four blocks away, and I save $100. I leave it there for 48 hours, and then move it once for the remaining time at the con.

There is a park with tons of free parking just north and west of the hotel.

I would do that too, except I have to haul all my artist alley stuff from the free parking to the hotel every day (I'm not staying at the hotel at all)... and I'd be carrying cash from sales, as well, so I really really do not want to get mugged. I do the free parking usually when I go to do badge pick up on Thursday, but that's it.

The website is outdated. I work for the AMV department, and I went to a staff meeting last Sunday. Chaz himself informed us that the website is wrong - the is discounted parking for *ALL* attendees, not just those staying at the hotel. I know this is confusing, but I wanted to clarify it for the record.
