Once upon a time, in a land far far away, there lived a beautiful princess. So great was her beauty that the king, her father declared she was a true treasure and hid her away lest she be stolen from him. She was given the best of everything and she grew up restricted in to the castle towers where the king had placed her since birth. Although cared for by her nannies, the princess wished a handsome prince would come to rescue her and take her to the outside world similar to the other fairytale princesses she heard stories of.
This is the tale of the princess and her rescuer. Dear reader be warned, t'is not a rosy tale about a fair maiden's true love's kiss and a happily ever after. This is a tale filled with lies and deceit, hovering in the shadows of the rosy tinted glass with which the rest of the world views the nobility. Read only if you brave enough to cast aside your prejudices and can embrace the shadows at the feet of the lamp along with the dim glow the lamp casts.
This is the tale of the fair princess Gemma. Long may she live.
