Amen. Real life isn't a video game. You don't get multiple lives. You don't get to start over. Once you're dead, it's game over.

I've come to think that it's usually from people who just want a chance to feel powerful and/or who resent the fact that society as it is puts so many restrictions on who they can shoot in the face.

I like the idea of a zombie apocolypse because even though I would personally die painfully and quickly, it would unite what little of humanity remained. As a species we're better united, and we don't have any reason to do so anymore- and the constant struggle to survive against an outside force would not make people stand together, and cut down the population. Think of what it would do for pollution ( ... )

I don't have enough confidence in humanity to believe that would happen. I think they would start out banding together, then they would start to argue, take sides and divide, ending up fighting each other as fiercely as they fight the zombies, who they also would have to deal with. But even all that aside, hoping for something as awful as "three fourths of the population die horribly by the reanimated corpses of the dead" is pretty much the worst thing I can think of. I can't think of any problems that would solve that would be worth that.
