kyotaku had found and posted
a journal entry from a writer Robin Hobb about a fanfiction, stating that she agrees with her. I don't. And so I wanted to comment on her note and state my own opinion, but it turned out to be too long for a comment, so instead I'm doing a response post.
it's going to be looong XD

I understand authors wants their stories to sell well, but I prefer authors writing their own stories, how they want them to be, not fulfilling fans wishes (like fe. what happens with manga in general).
It's normal to say don't read them. I don't. And I was so quiet about this for so many years. But now I'm angry enough to say 'I don't think this is right'.

I cannot agree more with you!
To be honest, fanfiction is for me such a fascinating aspect popculture. Because it's not only about consuming, it's about producing, embracing creativity and giving the story another, different life.
The characters and the plot are not stolen, they just are used as an device to show our ideas or to give us pleasure ;3
I just crave to have an occasion to write some kind of articles and publications on the topic. Your piece just inspired me!
And finally, I am so envious of your writing skills... Both in polish and in english ;__;
It's awesome!

I'm thinking of turning this little note into an article of some sort but fir this I would have to gather some more scientific data and fill the theorists with some names, not just them as a group, ne?
We can think together too - to combine our powers and insights on the matter ;P
Don't be envious. Do fanfiction XD See? I wrote some and tried some and I dervised conclusions ;P And I don't write that good in English if I'm not reading in English simultanously. And I'm aware of my horrible spelling mistakes in longer words XD
mrah ♥
