London calling

Two posts in less than a week. Impressed? I sure as fuck am. I'm generally to lazy to sign in. I'm not sure if this is a sign of the end of the world, but I'm certainly not ruling it out.

So I'm going to London in a few days time, (I know, flying again, I have more medication so I should be okay) and I really really really could use any tips for ( Read more... )

Besides the Tube, there's also the Heathrow Express. More expensive than the Tube, but probably cheaper than a cab? (I've never taken a cab from Heathrow to London, so I have no idea about prices.) It goes to Paddington station in 15 minutes and from there you could take the Tube or a bus or a cab to your hotel.

I second seshat's recommendation for the Natural History Museum. I was 16 when I visited that and I remember loving it. I spent half the day in there! The dinosaurs were awesome. :)

ETA: I hadn't seen there was already a suggestion about the Heathrow Express and for the last few minutes I couldn't even load the page to see if my comment was posted or not. Well, anyway. I hope you have an awesome trip! :)

Thank you! I like the idea of taking the express then catching a taxi. I'm going to see what the prices of everything looks like, it might be that it ends up being about the same as a full cab ride in which case we'll just take the cab. And lj can be a bitch, sometimes, don't worry, it's good to know more than one person recommended it. *hugs* How've you been, sweetheart?

It sounds like all your mates have got you covered, but the Tube, which stops at all terminals, is far and away the fastest and least expensive means of getting into London ( ... )

Hello, sugar. I hope you're doing well! *hugs*

We have the Jack the Ripper tour reserved and the make a wish foundation has set up an itinerary for us. We do have some free time, though, so we'll be able to plan some extras. I've not heard of Spittalfileds market, it sounds lovely! We are doing a Bath tour, and Stonehenge. It's going to be a packed week. Is it worth it to pay for a boat tour on the Thames, or to go to Little Venice? I want to see Harrods at least once, as well, but we'll have to see, it being the kidlets trip, he might veto that. ;)

Thanks so much, Tip. I'll email you if I can't figure something out. It's good to know I have a lifeline if I need one. *smooch* Tell me how things are with you?

Harrods is special because it's Harrods. I don't think you need to bother, even though it's fun. I'd definitely go to on a boat tour of the Thames. There's so much history and so many interesting things to see on and at the river.

I'm alright, Darling. Very busy with work with not much time for other things, but such is life, yeah?

How are you? How is G?

I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I just want to see it, you know? I'm really wanting to do a boat tour, and they aren't too expensive, so I think that is something we will definitely be persuing ( ... )
