have you tried the economic hardship forbearances? That's my next step if I can't get one for unemployment...

Those are tricksy. Might be easier since you kids are unemployed. I tried to get an economic hardship when I was making $25k/year, living on my own, uninsured, and had $100k in loans. And they said to go poke myself in the eye with a rusty garden rake. Or something along those lines.

yea, they are just not that helpful, are they?

and don't get me started on health insurance. it's like the holy grail around here- and i live in a hippie socialist state compared to the east coast
the only young people i know who have it are getting it through their schools.

i contacted wachovia about this stuff once, and they suggested that i move my monthly due date. i was angry and baffled by their useless response...

also, i'm still able to pay, as long as i forgo meat and most produce to save the dollars. i didn't want to do the economic hardship thing unless i had to.. although it is a possibility for the future

Honestly, crappy family restaurants are starting to sound good.

true - in that it is certainly better than being unemployed.
