What is the oddest gift you have been given?
Well, the bomb in the ladies' can at the precinct seemed pretty strange at the time.
Political answer: I suppose I should mention the Emancipation Proclamation and the Civil Rights Act, gifts from people who didn't even know me or anyone else my age, people who stood up for what they believed. The 'odd' part isn't that they did it, of course. It's that they needed to do it, that the people running this country let it get into any such state.
The stuffed aardvark was a close second, though.
