my friend Kajel and I took my huge bag of change to the coinstar in disco kroger here...
and..I walked out with
$60.01

fantastic.

I was so skeptical. It takes 8.9 cents per dollar.
so not bad, 92 cent return.
she kept $5 in quarters (for the toll, she doesn't have a pass) and gave me cash.

Some of the coinstar machines give gift cards with no sorting fee. (Amazon, Starbucks, Linen's and Things, and a few others...) I haven't decided whether I want to go that route or use the change I am taking tomorrow to pay my school fees. Splurge or school..hmm... hard choice.

www.coinstar.com where you can look up what the stores near you offer on the coinstar machine.

We did the Coinstar thing a few days ago and walked away with just over $62. Add to that the $19 we got from the bottle return and we felt riiich.

I love Coinstar. It feels like you're getting free money.
