seems a bit odd to me, given the millions upon millions who have read the harry potter books (not to mention looneys like me who stood in long lines for midnight to roll around for the last 5 in the series) have read seven of these books.

heck, if you've read all of the jane austen's you've read five; read the hitchhiker's series and you've read, what five or six right there. his dark materials is three...

(all of which i've read, btw)

I'm one of those few people who just can't stand Harry Potter. My oldest son has read all the books at least 3 times each, but I just can't bring myself to. Hehehe! And I wonder how many people would read all of Jane Austen's. I went through a stage of forcing myself to read "the classics" and her books made me want to poke a stick through my eyes. I have a feeling I also read Sense and Sensibility but I've repressed the memory ;-D

my wife refuses to read the harry potter series as well. she's not that into fiction to begin with and the fact that it's "a kids series" is a double-whammy.

i read austen after seeing a bbc series on DVD of Pride and Prejudice. what can i say, i like her writing. :)

I have the utmost respect for you for enjoying her writing ;-) I think I was reading it from the viewpoint of a modern female and I just wanted to punch the characters hehehe! I don't have much tolerance for girly women ;-D

Formatting that list seemed like too much work so I've cheated and just listed the ones I've read...
