Ok, so I am currently planning Talons Wiccaning next month. I am basically making everything, which let me to think - if I am scrambling to make Wiccaning items, I know other Wiccan moms are too . . . IDEA - this is totally what I need to start my Pagan business with. So far I've got several merchandise ideas, so I am starting to looking into web-

What is a Wiccaning?

Its a pagan baby dedication ritual that (typically) happens at 9 months of age. Several things go on, most importantly is presenting baby to the Goddess and God, and making vows as parents to what goals and principles we promise to raise our child from. Its also a recognition that the baby's soul *chose* to reincarnate here at this time and with this family; it's a naming ceremony where the parents choose a pagan name for the baby until his/her coming of age when the child themselves picks a new one; it's also the time to give the baby "gifts" which are sometimes called "hopes" because traditionally its gifts like wisdom, bravery, eloquence, etc.. that people normally give an item to represent, like a person giving "wisdom" might give the baby a toy owl or snake, that sort of thing.

Wiccaning is the first rite of passage, so its very important! Would you and your family like to come to Talon's? We'd love to have you come, I love sharing our beautiful traditions with any interested party! :)

It sounds very sweet, i like it. I'm not sure about coming, mostly because hubby is pagan and has his own views. I don't know what those views are though, since he doesn't seem to actively practice a ymore. Before we even got married, i wanted to learn so i told him to point me to a good website or book so i could learn about him, but he says the only good book is rrally expensive :/

I am very interested though. The only class i really want to take in college is the history of world religion. I just fear that living here means they'll focus more on christianity than i care for.

Thats cool :) There are lots and lots of Pagan paths and traditions, my hubby isn't the same as me either. He is all new-agey-ancient-alien-paranormal-stuffs, and I'm all naturey-animal-witch-elementalish. I'm actually curious now as to what flavor of Pagantastica yours use to practice. (My being obsessed with other people's spiritual beliefs and all.) In any event though, you are certainly still welcome to come, would be fun!! There aren't many people coming anyway, 1 for sure, maybe 2 and a baby. And if you are ever just personally interested in Wicca or any Pagan paths at all - you know where to go! Me!! I <3 all religious expressions! Yay God(s)!

Yay!! I am actually looking in to now what all I'm gonna have to have as far as business licenses and such go. It's kinda confusing.
