Pterygium.I have a small benign growth on my right eyeball.Luckily it is not on the cornea, which would mean minor surgery, and already it seems smaller than it was a week ago.Written to stop my lj being deleted,so not too interesting.

Well, it's interesting to those who care for you, kiddo! I hope it vanishes pretty soon. I have a thing in the white of my eye, and its been there for 30 years. Guess I'm used to it by now. Huggles Ru xxxxxx

Thanks for the morale boost! Wikipedia says it's usually quite harmless, and it doesn't hurt an awful lot.Is that what you have?Apparently it leaves a wedge-shaped mark.

No, mine's a cholesterol spot. But it doesn't cause me any probs, not like the cataract I'm waiting to have removed in May. At least I'll be able - I hope - to see a little better. :D xxx

Every one that I've known have a cataract removed has got over it remarkably well, and they've all been in their 70's and 80's.Maybe 4/5 days of discomfort, then better, much better vision. And the actual op didn't take too long, either. So here's hoping you sail through it as and when.
