One of the reasons I left Islam is because even though there is a movement to end violence against women, there is still a dramatic overtone of patriarchal superiority. If the Quran declares women are to protect men because "they were given more strength," it is declaring women incapable of protecting themselves. Can I just say... it's about time that something like this was made. Well, there have been other attempts, but so many things just come out looking like they are just aimed to show hatred toward God or a particular faith... I suppose it's about time someone looked specifically at Islam and WOMEN.

the article alludes to the backlash it has already generated in Europe.. I'd be interested to see if anyone has the guts to show it here in the U.S.

I was born/raised Muslim, and .. well, naturally alot of the issues you post on feel very relevent.
I wish I could see this film you speak of.. It sounds groundbreaking and very important in the quest for opening a dialogue of truth!
