No one seems quite as excited about my bamboo forests as I do, and I'm a little worried that means I'm destined to become a super villain: Poison Anna.
I am totally down with your bamboo forest idea. Seriously.
If you doubt my seriousness, I have actually been thinking about your plan since I got back. I have decided that I will invest whatever money I have in you when you start it.
haha. hopefully I can talk Google into giving me 2mil to do it. I'd be into combining this with my doctoral research, but I'd probably have to switch from the chemistry department to the biology department which would be awkward.
it is going to happen though. but maybe not for a few decades.
yeah, thats the principal I'm working on: some types of Bamboo grows like a bitch.
BTW there is black bamboo that DOESNT colonize your yard (its called clumping bamboo and spreads by clumping rather than running shoots under the ground). I highly recommend an afternoon trip out to http://www.bamboogarden.com/ which is a bit of a drive, and plan to spend a few hours there. It is far and away one of the most amazing places I've ever been. Even Sam liked it and he's not a bamboo nut.
