The Stash: your system?

So, I am wondering, what do people do to manage "The Stash" (in other words: the massive amounts of fabric and other materials you're thinking buying the next door house for)?

I remember someone writing extensively about their system, which was in a book, but there were 2 books. But I forgot who it was?

It's a great article, long and detailed. I have plans with it. And I still want to get more ideas.
