Assorted rants

1. The warehouse manager at work just stands in my door and stares instead of speaking to me. He says he's "being polite." I say, I'm concentrating, and might not notice him for a very long time. For Pete's sake, just say my name or something! He's a very very odd character, indeed, and if he were in a book or a show verbatim, would be ( Read more... )

Here is the health plan. Some of it is downright effing scary. God help you if you are special needs... just sayin'. I suppose I could ave an insurance company or the govt dictate what I can and can not get, but it is still rationing. I want the congress and the senate and any other govt offical on this plan, no exclusions. Its interestign what they want to do to military folks too. The price tag on this is mind boggling.

I wonder if this passes will an underground economy in healthcare emerge, or a second teir system where if you have money you pay twice (tax plus out of pocket) and then you have those stuck with the govt system.

Good lord. It's over a 1000 pages, and I haven't had my second cup of coffee. Special needs aren't helped much now, and if you have a pre-existing condition, as defined by the insurance company... We've created a situation where we're bound to our employers (if they offer insurance) if we have any sort of condition at all, since individual insurance is expensive or impossible.

They manage universal health care smoothly in Canada and the UK. People can pay extra for extra treatments, but they don't have to make the decision to not have care at all.

The issue is universal HC isn't effiecntly managed in UK or Ca...unless you have minor stuff and check ups. But a lot folks with special needs are hoping this HR will fix things and it doesnt.

Yes1000+ pages. I want my reps to read it. I am slogging though some of it. I wish the bill just convered taking care of the sick and ill and did not have all the featherbedding and non healtcare stuff that's in there. I will approve this bill wholeheartedly if the congress and senate are forced to take it like the rest of us...=) and drop thier plan and take it like the rest of us.

As it stands I cannot support this. 45% of it is shit and not related to providing health care. I cant see any real working doctor supporting this.

I've come to the conclusion that sometimes people are so emotionally attached to their prejudices they argue against their own best interests, regardless of the cost.

Here in Georgia, he is arguing his own best interests, which is getting re-elected. I've spent my whole life apologizing for the public figures in my state. I had George Wallace as governor when I was a teen, and now I have Governor Purdue and Senator Chambliss. I feel like John Adams asking God if this is fair?
