I would so hate to see the Sophie's choice scenario and would throw so much uncalled for hate on Dean.
Why, oh why our boys has always the be the one to make the hardest decisions?
You know what I really want from SPN is that every character in it can take decisions on hiw own and can be held accountable for them, but I don't want to see them damaged to the point of no return.

I would hate it so much too, but unfortunately given the attitude in the latest Carver/Singer interview, it appears that Carver isn't quite as unbiased as I hoped he'd be. *sigh* And seeing as the annual Sam Whitewash Routine is SOP, Dean fans should always fear the other shoe dropping, because to whitewash Sam is usually to trash Dean in the minds of the producers. We can't ever not be nervous or on edge.
You'd think after so many years of doing the same old thing, though, at least one producer would get it that trashing Dean doesn't make Sam more popular or Dean less popular. What might make Sam more popular is allowing Sam to sack up and own his mistakes all by himself, but I don't see that ever happening.
I haven't seen the first episode yet as I wanted to see how other people reacted to it but I'm glad that you and the others enjoyed it.
Most people seem to like Kevin so that's a plus as well. And almost nobody likes the vet.
I did enjoy it, but honestly, not as much as I would have had Carver and Singer not opened their fat biased traps before the premiere. Now that I know the other shoe is going to drop, there's no way not to be on edge. Idiots.
Kevin's definitely a decent character, which is good considering he's a major plot point this season. I don't have any feeling one way or the other about Amelia, because I'm investing no emotion or interest at all in that s/l. The actress was really good on Alphas, though. I'm sure the writing for her will soften when they get into the heart of the Sam/Amelia epic romance, yo. ;)
I liked the premiere of the show as well. Didn't do the analysis you did, just enjoyed the show. Still miss Cas and think they should bring him back but guess they have something else in mind. Did like the potrayal of Kevin. He could become a strong character I think. Have seen the premieres of Castle, Person of Interest, Perception and the finale of Warehouse 13. Been a busy week for t.v. Looking forward to seeing you for the Downtown Art Fair. Will call and talk to you before then.

Really looking forward to it. Already informed The Spousal Unit that I'm getting out of Dodge for a couple days. ;) I'll come up sometime before dinner on Friday, and leave after dinner on Saturday, if that's good with you.

Never fear, you'll see Cas beginning next week. Misha is actually working a lot this season - he even moved his wife and two kids (just had a baby girl a couple weeks ago - awwwwww) up to Vancouver. And he wouldn't have done that if he wasn't working a lot, not after Sera Gamble screwed him over in season six when he did that expecting to work a lot, and then didn't. So he wasn't willing to move everyone to Vancouver again unless it was worth the time. Supposedly it has been this year. :)
