I'm in awe at your reading list! The only Eco I've managed to get through is The Name Of The Rose, and I'm too intimidated by Don DeLillo to pick one up:). The only one of these I've read is Gone Girl, and I agree with you that all the fuss about it is unwarranted. The twist was clear a long way off, and the ending was simply unbelievable.

The thing with Eco is that I pick up the books, and the story descriptions are right up my alley. Then I start to read ... and I feel really stupid. Maybe it's all getting lost in the translation for me. ;) At least I can walk away from The Prague Cemetery knowing what the story was about. If you held a gun to my head, I couldn't tell you what the hell happened in Foucault's Pendulum. I never picked up The Name of the Rose because I had already seen the movie

I highly recommend both titles I mentioned. At least, nothing has turned me off The Angel's Game yet, which is the one I'm reading now. ;)
