I love hearing about what folks are watching and what they think of the shows. :-)
Let's see…shall we start with the cancelations? I am so irritated that the one time The Glades ends on a true cliffhanger season finale it gets canned. And I really never saw that cancelation coming, either. I thought it had been doing well as a summer show for A&E. And don't even get me started on Copper! I loved that show and it had so many more stories to tell. At least we ended with Corky, Morehouse and Matthew having one last adventure together and Corky and Francis back on good terms (it broke my heart when all that crap happened between them). And yeah, it was a cliffhanger with whatever happened at Eva's, but I was okay if that had to be the series finale. Which it shouldn't have been!
Strike Back! Woot! I love it that my pimping post worked. :-) And you're all caught up now, great! I think there are only two more eps left this season. Bummer. I'm really liking Robson Green as the new head of Section 20. Which of course means he'll probably be

Yeah, those are some of my favorite posts too. Besides, it's how you occasionally get pimped. ;)

That's the thing, it was. I thought I saw that it had ratings in the 5's, and a whole lot of network shows would be thrilled to get those kinds of ratings. For cable those are really good ratings. But even if I'm misremembering the exact numbers, I know the ratings were supposed to have been perfectly respectable, especially for cable.
What I read is that there had been a change in management over the past year, and both The Glades and Longmire were series not produced by A&E itself, but outside studios, and they were looking to dump those shows solely for that reason and get into the biz of doing their own thing - like Bates Motel. Ah, really? Well that’s the stupidest business model ever. Let’s throw the baby out with the bathwater! I can’t believe there wasn’t another lower-rated non-A&E show they could have dumped instead of The Glades. Now I understand why it ended on a cliffhanger. The creators/writers/producers obviously had no idea either that the show was on the chopping block or they never would have left off that way.
Yeah, that seems to be the #1 complaint - how quickly Crane has adapted. But I guess I can see the problem for the producers, because they only have the 13 episodes
Very true. And realistically the guy should be catatonic from shock with the way the world had changed, so I understand why they had to speed up the process. :-)
My DVR is getting a workout this fall. On Tuesday I recorded three shows since I have a standing supper meeting then. So did see Marvel AOS after I got home. Still have Supernatural and Person of Interest to see. On Monday I watch Bones, Sleepy Hollow and the Blacklist. Tonight I will watch Criminal Minds and CSI( though not really as big on that anymore). Want to catch Master Chefs New Orleans if it is on tonight. On Thursday, still watch Big Bang and Elementary. Didn't really care as much for Ironside as I thought I would. A lot of the shows you guys see I guess I don't get. Do want to see Almost Human and will give Dracula a try I guess.
