A couple hours ago I read that Edward Herrmann had died of brain cancer. *sob* RIP Richard Gilmore

Oh no, not Edward Herrmann :( He was "my" FDR and dang good at up, too. I didn't realize he was sick. So sad.

It sounds like the family kept it under wraps and didn't really let people know until last week. Very sad. :(

Had a quiet New Year's as well. Met with the girls and another friend for an early sushi dinner. Then came home, read, had a glass of Champagne at midnight while I watched the ball drop. Fireworks went off around here until after one. Saw the Hobbit yesterday, and oh well at least it's over. Want to see Into the Woods or possibly Birdman yet.

Quiet New Year's celebrations at home are the best, IMO. We ended up watching Netflix most of the night, so I didn't actually get to read until after midnight. All in all, a comfy homebody New Year's. :)
