Hardly venting! steenydoll July 25 2005, 13:07:00 UTC
Hey Girl,

This is more update than venting! It's great to hear everything that's been going on with you, even if it's not all good. Lemme just say- if being an adult is living drama-free, leaving the high-school-mindset in the dust where it belongs, and knowing how to balance liquor, troubles, and laughs, all the while still supporting your friends and family- then just call me Ma'am. (Actually, call me that and die, but you know what I mean). That's just what you've been doing, girl, (all those adult-like things) and there is no shame in it!

Now, being an old foggy is not going out at all, getting a gut while slouching on an old sofa watching TV, and only thinking about bills and politics. THAT'S the bad version of an adult! I vote to reject this and continue to become the booty-kicking adults we truly are!

One last though- steenydoll July 25 2005, 13:10:16 UTC
When you first started watching "Friends", back in the day, what did you think of those characters? You thought they were adults, no? I always did. They were "grown up", making it in NYC on their own, living these "adult" social lives....

Girl- we are the same age they were in, like, season 2 or so. We're "grown up", (I'm "making it on my own" although not in NYC, and you're in NY, and "Making all but rent" on your own. =), and having "adult" social lives.

I think I'm cool with being a Jennifer Aniston adult. (Not that I'm comparing myself to her character! Rachel was a spoiled cheerleader! AAAAAH! THE HORROR!)

just an interesting take on the perspective of the question. Thought I'd share.
