She's recovered from Jaenelle's latest gaffe, and found her way back to her room in a state of strange melancholy. She throws her windows open to the setting sun, and stands there awhile; then falls to pacing.

Melou is honestly feeling a little sad, after this last visit with Anna, a little sad and a little guilty, and missing her more than he feels is right, and for that reason it seems best to talk to his grandmother--at least he can talk to his grandmother. So he seeks her out.
