Morgause is in her room again today, sewing, of all innocuous things; Hero's baby is growing out of his clothes, and it's something to do, something to keep her hands and eyes busy. It is not, however, terrifically interesting.

"Ay-- come." She puts the sewing down with some relief.

So he lets himself in with a smile. "Good afternoon."

Morgause rises to meet him, holding out her hands.

Perhaps he has managed to escape Merlin's guard, perhaps not, but the Wart has found his way to Morgause's door nonetheless. He knocks.

She looks up. "Who?"

He swallows. "Your brother," he says.

Morgause whitens. She sits still for an instant, then puts aside the sewing carefully and goes to the door.
