Well, the racing season is over, VERY unfortunately... but I can re-live the experience with
This is the course that we race on from the top and looking down. I love the view- sometimes, it looks rediculously pretty.
And the course from a spectator's view. Guess who that racer is?
At PVIAC, which is an all day skiing event that everybody races in to qualify for states, all the parents come to watch and we all eat lots and lots of food that they bring. This is about one-thirtieth of the food that was there. Last year I ate like three hamburgers, three hot dogs, bread, many starburst and other candy, cake, brownies, salad, pasta, chili, etc. Seriously, I almost threw up. This year I was smart and only ate about half that amount. :)
A nice picture of Anna and Liz in the morning.
Okay, this is the greatest story. It was Valentines Day that day, and my coach Carol and her boyfriend of a while were at the top of the mountain where they originally met. The girl's slalom race was almost over, and they were the only two at the top of the mountain. Then, Carol's boyfriend asked him to marry her! We all knew he was going to that day, but it was still really cute. Here is a picture of them about two minutes after he asked her.
My main coach Peter making his trademark face.
Olivia racing. I was SO close to the course when I took this I was afraid she was going to hit me, but I really wanted the shot. What a good skier!
After my race, I saw a man with gray hair and a huge camera with Liz's dad, and I couldn't believe it- It was my DAD! I was so happy that my dad had come to see me race. This was the first time he had ever seen me race or ski at all, or even go to a ski mountain, and since skiing is such a big part of my life it was really special for him to see me race. That was definitely the best part of my day by far. I was THRILLED!
This was taken at the closing ceremonies. As you can see, we were really bored.
Travis. What a cutie.
A picture of the "good freshmen".
Milo in between Lisa's legs. Heehee.
The guys with butterfly tatoos.
Peter, cutting his goodbye cake. This was his last year. The end of an era.
