War, protests and Civil Scoiety

It seems that we cannot manage a conversation in this society about the War in Iraq without accusing the other side of being unpatriotic, or even treasonous. telling you that you are unpatriotic or against the troops is the refuge of someone who cannot in good conscious argue about this intelligently -- I find it amazingly insulting and it makes me REALLY angry.

I find it all of those things too. I just can't find a way to respond to it. That kind of thinking holds any form of debate hostage. How do we free it?
