Just thought that everyone would like to know that I am still alive and kicking in San Diego. I'm thinking about leaving for a while this weekend (school canceled until Monday at the earliest), and I will post updates here if I get a chance. Let me tell you kids, this fire is bad news. This is one case where Google Maps just makes things scarier: it looks like the only major land route out of San Diego now is the highway to Tijuana. How are you planning to leave for the weekend?

Well, it looks like I-5 north has reopened, I-15 north and south has been open for a while, and as far as I know, I-8 has never been closed as best I know. I'm not sure if I'm leaving for the weekend. If I go, I'll figure that out when I get to it.
