It had been long time since I read that poem. Thanks for making me listen to that. I hadn't realized that there were so many parallels with T.S. Eliot's Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock, didn't you think?

I was actually thinking that he's got to be referencing Whitman in some way, probably partially in response to "I Hear America Singing."
