Community of any sort seems to have its problems and people tend to take themselves too seriously without actually knowing the subject well. I myself have been back and forth with Wicca but have tried to stay away from the lj communities so as to not deal with fluffy wiccans and the "holy than thou" ones. All in all I figure it is best to just do what you feel is right, whether it fits with other people's views or not. I generally believe no one's path is exactly the same as another's and by trying to fit ourselves into the same box we stifle our spiritual growth instead of learning from each other. You seem to have a good head on your shoulder as far as where you'd like to be spiritually. Just start from your basic beliefs and go from there. Sorry my comment was so long -_-
