That girl is a pain in the but always getting in places she should not. They almost kissed and yeah I think having Jack around makes Ennis frustrated as much as it makes Jack. So close but yet so far. Joe

I agree that this is fun! Jack and Ennis can't resist each other; this is nothing new. But the environment they are in, and the boss/employee relationship make things pretty sticky. I wonder what'll happen next...?

Um, you must mean a supply-closet. I think they are a bit too big to fit into a cupboard. A cupboard might be in a closet, though...(no offense-I'm just obsessive!)

Thanks for a fun story,
Leslie

As the beta on this story, I feel compelled to reply regarding the cupboard/closet issue. Most if not all of my job with Anna is to American-ize, since her technical skills are really quite excellent. Sometimes I debate on changing a word or phrase because, while it may be more often heard from Brits, it has either crept into (or out of, but lingeringly) American usage.

I am a South Floridian, born and raised. We are not like the rest of the south, but we're not exactly like New England, either. No one here says cupboard. But I don't live in a vacuum, so I know other Americans do use the word. Hence, I defer to the dictionary. While I too usually picture a cabinet type object, here's what Merriam-Webster thinks. It's not the only definition available, but it certainly is a valid one, and not particularly British in connotation.

(Don't worry, I'm not upset or anything--just thought I'd better step up and explain, since this type of thing is down to me, not Anna. Thanks for reading!)

Ok, point taken. I've never seen that usage before, in British or American, but I guess it's legit. Maybe when I think of a "cupboard" I confuse it with a "cabinet"...? Anyway, it's not highly important. I had to giggle when I tried to picture those guys climbing into a shelf-unit together. Silly, huh. Thanks for the explanation!

2 in 1 week!! sjmarv December 9 2010, 04:59:57 UTC
Terrific to have 2 chapters in one week, but sounds like Jack and Ennis won't be "running" into one another for quite a while - at least not if you;re having company for the next 3 weeks!! Yikes! Poor you!! I hope they help with the cooking and dishes.

I'm thinking Ennis kicked the tattoo guy to the curb because Ennis wanted an exclusive relationship and Tattoo guy didn't. Hoping Ennis is paving the way to make a more personal relationship with Jack less of an ethical issue work-wise.

But I agree with Joe - that Candy needs to butt out so Ennis can butt in!(sorry, couldn't resist the pun ;);) )
