We left the boys rolling around in Ennis' bed. Ennis tells Jack something important...

I wake up slowly, reluctant to leave the heat and security of my dreams. I stretch out my arms until they hit something warm and solid.

Ennis.

He loves me.

The realization makes me smile like a kid on Christmas morning. For once, reality is way better than imagination, although I still can’t quite believe I’m here. I reach out to touch Ennis lightly on his shoulder, gently running my hand down his arm.

He stirs and turns to look at me, eyes heavy with sleep. A smile pulls at the corner of his mouth. “Morning,” he mumbles huskily.

“Morning.” I lean over and brush a kiss on his lips. “You ok?”

Ennis closes his eyes and stretches his arms. “Mmm... great. You?”

I watch him for a moment, the words I want to say are a lump in my throat. “Yeah. I… I… I’m perfect.”

Ennis cocks an eyebrow. “I know.”

I smile and smoosh my pillow into his face. He laughs and pushes it off, wrestling his arms free to roll and pin me on my back. His smoky brown eyes look down at my face while he wriggles his hips to lie against me snugly. “You want some breakfast?”

I sigh regretfully, “wish I could, but Bobby made me promise to take him for pancakes.” I glance over at the clock on the nightstand. “Got a few minutes yet though?”

I tug him back down to me and we take full advantage of the time remaining before I have to leave.

We say goodbye at the front door. Ennis looks damn sexy in just his sleep pants. As we embrace on the doorstep - me fully dressed, him in little more than underwear - I can’t help thinking that we must look like some cheesy couple from a romantic movie.

Sitting with Bobby later at IHOP, I wonder why I couldn’t tell Ennis how I feel. I also wonder if Ennis actually knew he’d said the ‘L’ word? We were both kinda out of it after some pretty spectacular orgasms.

Still, tomorrow is Sunday and he’s coming over to my place after Bobby heads home. I’m making chocolate fudge cake from scratch as I figure I still owe him dessert.

Guess we may have to talk some stuff over too. That’s if we get around to it. My bed is pretty damn nice - and much bigger than his.
