I've never heard of girlfriends....what kinda show is it, (obviously, about girlfriends, but is it a teen show?) and how come us UKers never get the good stuff till late???

Even though Girlfriends was on the air for 8 years, it wasn't really a huge hit here, so I'll doubt you'll get it in the UK. When it first came out the critics called it "Sex and the City for African American women" (Their words, not mine). I guess it's kinda like that, but without graphic sex.
