Computers, calculators, the items that make us stupider while simultaneously making us smarter, are the ones I think we would be better off without. They can't think, not with intentionality, ( Read more... )

I think you're spot on. Not that I ever grew up in an age where computers weren't a part of daily life, but I wish that I could know a Jane-Austeny era where people were real, not pictures on a screen, and where what was real was more important that was was virtual.

There are, undoubtedly, benefits to the computer era, but there are many drawbacks. Maybe I'm too old-fashioned, but I am afraid of how digitized society is getting.
