Yuletide recs!

My holidays were super busy with family stuff so I've barely been on LJ at all, which means I didn't get a chance till now to rec the SUPER AMAZING FICS I GOT FOR YULETIDE.

My main fic was INSANELY PERFECTLY AIMED AT MY INTERESTS, because tearupthesky got assigned to me for the second year in a row. Haha, poor kid. But she wrote me THE BEST PARKS & REC RON/

Oh man, it's so nice of you to come say that again!!! Thank YOU for having such a great prompt -- I was seriously so psyched when you said you liked f/f and m/m and m/f and threesomes and everything, you are my favorite kind of person! I was actually really tempted to make it a Leslie/Ron/Tammy 2 threesome, but I felt like that might take more words than I had time for, haha.

OKAY, SO, I am visiting my best friend from high school at Penn State for the long weekend, where it turns out there is very little to do besides go on 12 hour pub crawls and, during hour 11, get hit in the boob with a quesadilla thrown by a drunk girl, and also watch the entirety of Party Down on Netflix over the course of 2 days? I had really mixed feelings about the whole thing for the most part but two things I did NOT have mixed feelings about were Henry/Casey and Adam Scott's face. I DON'T EVEN KNOW, MAN, I never really got what the big deal was about him on Parks and Rec, but apparently that's just because he's not miserable and on drugs and having sex in vans all the time? CONGRATULATIONS, UNIVERSE, YOU WIN, etc etc (speaking of which, there is something distinctly Halpert-y about Henry that I find really appealing even as it makes me hate myself). Also, why has nobody written a romcom for Lizzy Caplan yet

OH MY GOD, YES PLEASE LET'S TALK ABOUT PARTY DOWN AND MY MIXED FEELINGS ABOUT IT. Ugh it is often so gross and male gaze-y and misogynistic feeling, BUT CASEY IS THE MOST AMAZING CHARACTER AND HENRY/CASEY IS THE MOST AMAZING SHIP. I read something where they said they didn't want to do a will-they-won't-they thing because it's such well-trodden territory, so instead decided to do the story of a relationship where people banged too soon, and omg, I AM SO GLAD THEY DID, it's so much more interesting

Ahaha, we just kept saying to each other, "Why are there so many needless tits on this show?" I don't understand how the same people could write Casey and also write, like, the porn party episode and also a good portion of the things that come out of Roman's mouth (UGH ROMAN IS EVERYTHING I HATE ABOUT GROSS SCI-FI GUYS and not in a funny, self-aware way). HOWEVER, banging too soon is the new forced-to-be-roommates, MAN it felt so fresh and great to me PLUS it means you get to see a lot more makeouts which, clearly, is a thing that I enjoy. Also they actually talked about stuff, and he told her that it wrecked him when she left, and the episode with Steve Gutenberg, and JUST. When it was good it was so awesome! And when it was yucky it was SO YUCKY.

YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY WRITE THAT SEQUEL. Is there really no fandom? Is there more fic out there?
