Your New Girl fic sounds AMAZING!

Today I started toying with the idea of resuscitating nothing_hip with once-a-month songs to try to get myself to finish something -- would anybody be in for this?

I would! I have been awful about finishing stories the last few years, and then every Yuletide I remember how much I enjoy actually finishing things and promise myself I'll finish more stories . . . and then I totally don't, because I stink, but this year I MEAN IT! Maybe.

And I am really struggling with the end of 30 Rock, like, I really kind of believe there will never be another show that makes me laugh that much and turns out to be as truly emotionally satisfying, particularly all the Liz stuff over the last couple of years, from this moment forward.

OH MAN I WOULD BE SO PSYCHED IF YOU DID NOTHING_HIP AND FINISHED STUFF! I love your fic so much, dude. I am trying to brainstorm with myself ways to motivate us to finish stuff even beyond the challenge, I will probably make a post to the community asking for ideas.

AND YES, THAT MOMENT FORWARD, when things changed for Liz!!!!!!!! LIZ LEMON GETTING A HAPPY ENDING IS SO WEIRDLY OVERWHELMINGLY EMOTIONALLY FULFILLING FOR ME. Like, I feel genuinely teary about the show ending. It's so amazing too, because for awhile there in the middle I was so frustrated with how the show just beat up on Liz all the time, but now she's got the Disney prince husband and two kids she wanted (AND OH MY GOD THE KIDS, how brilliant was that) and I seriously just want to cry forever.

Oh man, isn't MTM great?! I thought it might feel a little dated, but it is still so funny and great! Haha and a little depressing how lady issues are so similar to the 70s in a lot of ways, but what're you gonna do.

One of the things that amazed me is how, in some ways, it was MORE progressive than what we see on TV today. Yeah, it's 2nd wave feminism, but still...we've regressed in some ways.

Another thing that amazed me? How Rhoda was treated as not pretty and/or fat. SHE WAS NEITHER.

But yes, so much of it just totally rings true.

I kind of would like to see it updated but then again, not. They make Lou a caricature. They'd turn Mary into Carrie from SATC.

Another interesting thing is how it's set in the MIDWEST. Hollywood's kind of forgotten that cities other than LA or NYC exist.

Hello you! Wow it doesn't seem that long ago that you said you were interviewing! Congratulations! Isn't it cool to earn money??? (she says, on a government volunteer stipend) And that is so awesome about your thriving social life! I've had that a little bit this year, and even a little feels awesome. Also you should tell us about boys.

Funnily enough, this week I started applying to a (teaching) job in Louisville! It's a long shot, though.

I would LOVE to watch your Lou/Mary/Jack/Liz/Ron/Leslie vid, needless to say. That would. Yep.

I know, right! It all happened really fast, I feel like I told you I was interviewing and then got the job like that week and was moving three weeks later and my whole life picked up crazy speed. EARNING MONEY IS THE MOST AMAZING, I am still shocked at it, like I want to get my paycheck all in $1 bills and roll around in it. Health insurance! A 401(k) like a grownup! Ten years of poverty has made me way more money-grubbing than I used to be!

Oooh, social life! It seriously is great, I want to hear all about yours too, you should post! Or email me! Or I shall email you! AND OMG A JOB IN LOUISVILLE! Haha you would right after I moved. But I go back there all the time! We could hang out! Are you applying at the Latin school by any chance?

I have totally been thinking of you every time I think about that vid. Also I can't believe Tina and Alec say Liz and Jack are like Mary and Lou in a way to try to shut down shipping, DO THEY NOT SHIP MARY/LOU? Hahaha.

Having The Office feelings in 2013 is so unsettling and I haven't even watched the episodes (I don't even have an icon for nostalgia purposes). But whatever, I just want The Office to BE BRAVE AND GO THERE. TOTALLY GO THERE. Is there a ficathon? There should be.
