What is our country coming to?

Dec 29, 2012 16:52

What is the one thing people want from its government, from law enforcement? Security. The feeling of feeling safe. A high GDP, rising stock markets don't really hold a candle to the main issues a country, our country faces. The freedom to walk whenever you want, to wear whatever you want and to be wherever you want, whenever you want and have the assurance that you're protected, you're secure no matter what.

For anyone following the news they can relate to what I'm saying: a 23-year old paramedical student was raped, gangraped rather and had been in Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital these past two weeks. 2 days ago, even in critical condition she was transported to Mount Elizabeth hospital in Singapore. This morning, she succumbed to her injuries.

Point 1: you can always fly in specialist doctors for such a case. why didn't you do it? what was the point of moving such a critically injured patient?

Point 2: Why, for God's sake, haven't you done anything except arresting the rapists? Move this to the fast track court and hang the sonovabitches. They certainly didn't have respect for the life of a girl who is no more and neither should the people. Should be treated like the low-life creatures they are.

This government has done nothing, as have the previous governments before us. We try our best to choose from the hooligans that exist and the options available and try, try and try to take good decisions and choose our leaders. Not that it works out that well. Not that it has ever.

We have politicians whose education is only till class 8. Is it of any use to have such educated people, people with doctorates and qualified engineers and graduates who go on to become civil servants, when the people at the top of the ladder, the ones issuing the commands are illiterate idiots?

How long will this continue? How long will we suffer under this monstrosity?

Some of the idiots have even suggested that girls should dress properly so as to not provoke! Break his face. Dress properly? Are you mad?

But one thing I will add: carry a pepper spray, carry something akin to what US police officers carry, a sap, take karate lessons and keep yourself fit so that anyone who even touches you will end up with a broken nose and inside the hospital.

Be aware. Don't let this go unpunished. And may the rapists burn in hell. May the politicians who have and still are taking so long to come up with an answer to the whole situation, burn with them. Hell is what you deserve.

Anger is what I feel prominently, in addition to rage and betrayal and a constant sense of feeling downtrodden because the government doesn't give a toss about people.

May the girl, who lost her life so tragically, find peace in the afterlife despite there being no peace to the violent way her life was taken from her, the violent way she was taken from her loved ones.

A country with politicians having medieval outlooks and making no effort to change it either. May The Lord save us all.
