Whoopsie!

I'm working on the next chapter and just realized I may have made a teeny continuity boo-boo in Marking Time. When I originally wrote about the button-down shirt Giles loaned to Spike, it was black. But somewhere along the way, I got it into my head that it was white. It's possible I've referred to it that way in a later chapter, though I haven't ( Read more... )

Oh, great. Now I've got this vision of Spike decked out in full football referee regalia, complete with knickers and black & white socks. Ack!

No worries! Maybe I'll even have it finished by the time you're able to sit down and read. Ya think?

::ponders::

Nah...me neither. Heh.

Hmmm, I'm sensing a trend here. Clearly, I should've added a fourth option.

Black, white, who cares, and purple tie dye with chartreuse polka dots.

(Or maybe we'll just stick with your lavender, pink and orange paisleys, since the chartreuse would probably clash with his eyes, don't you think?)

Oh... you want a serious answer... white.

I dunno. I'm not sure the question really deserves a serious answer. Hee. But thanks!

While I personally like Spike in those black button-downs, white seems to be the most logical color of shirt to find in Rupert Giles's closet.

(Spike's just lucky he didn't end up with Giles's old leisure suit...;-) )

It does indeed seem the most logical. ::nods emphatically::

But a part of me wonders if a black shirt could be lurking somewhere in the back of his closet, a hidden remnant of his Ripper days. Ooooh!

Aaaaaaaah! ::runs screaming from the room::

Oh, and thanks!

just a lurker but i LOVE your story! i've been reading this story for so long i dont' even remember what colour the shirt was at all BUT i will say white just because a) it does seem like white would be the most logical coming from Giles' closet b) i'd like to see spike in a white shirt for once c) Giles wouldn't really try to make spike THAT comfortable, so if he does have a Ripper-times shirt, he wouldn't dig it out for Spike, he'd just grab the first thing he'd see and d) i kinda like thinking of Spike being not entirely comfortable with this entire situation he finds himself in, and his shirt is kinda the external image of that if that makes any sense...anyways can't wait for teh next chapter!
