Buffy Season 9 question

Sep 21, 2011 23:28

Popping in for a quick question. I've read reviews/recaps of the first season 9 comic and seen a handful of preview pages, but there's something that's not clear to me. (Placing my question behind the cut to keep from spoiling anyone who hasn't read it yet.)

Alas, I've no idea. I'm sort of put off by the "hilarity" of Buffy getting blackout drunk and undergoing a wacky, but theoretical, sexual assault. At least in the old days when Buffy got mystically roofied into having sex, she was conscious. Call me old-fashioned...

I guess that would make two of us. I've been rather dumbfounded by many of the developments that have come from Season 8 and now Season 9. (Especially the wacky space sex. Yikes.)

I don't like to judge without having read something myself, but based on what I've heard...sheesh. This is not the BtVS I knew and loved.

Buffy insults him and Spike says "That's kind of harsh after last night." Willow wants to know what happened last night and Buffy says let's not find out. The end. Compared with the angst she spends on whether or not she hit on Riley it's nothing.

Thank you! Much appreciated.

I was initially hopeful for better things from Season 9. And while I (mostly) like what I'm hearing about Spike (I'm sure that will change), I'm increasingly not keen on other aspects.

It doesn't seem like this Buffy has grown up or learned anything from her past mistakes. And if they don't even plan to deal with the fallout from any of the questionable choices she made or Giles' death...ugh!

I like the fanfic versions sooo much better. Heh.

Yeah, it's kind of sad. There's a comic out there about a Slayer who's grown up and taken responsibility for her actions and is a real adult... and then there's the one about Buffy. :P

Now that's a comic I would pay to read! :-)

I don't think it was him because who ever it was got her pregnant. Of course anything could happen.
