Whoo-hoo!!!

Taking a momentary break from work I brought home that will keep me busy all weekend. A few weeks ago, I was told I'd been chosen for a special team to handle a special project over the course of two months. All very flattering, of course, except it's pretty much 24/7 and there have been a few nights when I haven't gone to bed at all. Not that it ( Read more... )

A few weeks ago, I was told I'd been chosen for a special team to handle a special project over the course of two months.

*sigh* Push really, really hard for recognition on this. I jumped at every chance for these at Global Professional Services Corp (not, obviously, its real name), as I had been given the idea it would lead to a promotion. Not so much. Looking back, I'm not sure anything would have led to a promotion, but I probably should have made a bigger deal of the success of these projects. For one, I should have been keeping better notes throughout so that I could point to my specific involvements and achievements.

Having said that, I kept enough notes to include the special projects on my resume with some detail, and it's those special projects that jump out to potential new employers...as in, "The thing that interested me most on your resume was your experience with..."

Or, you could just ignore me, as I am angry and bitter and my salary continuance runs out this week. grrrrrr

I forgot to say that it's really frustrating when you give the job 110 percent of yourself and then they're all, "Sorry, but your position has been eliminated," or whatever reason they're giving. So, bitter? Yeah, I get that. It's so not fair. ::MORE HUGS::

Yep...29 gold and 58 total. They did us proud. :-)

As did all of the competing athletes, medal winners or not. My metaphorical hat is off to them.

That work schedule sounds brutal. Gah.

I just counted it up. From last Sunday morning to Friday evening, I had a grand total of 15 hours sleep. (Didn't go to bed at all one night.) Needless to say, I did my best to catch up last night and this morning. Heh.This is the first weekend I haven't had to bring anything home. I plan to enjoy it while I can!
