I've got this younger brother. His name is Colby and he was born when I was 14. He was the only child of my dad's second marriage (although my dad fathered a few other offspring during that time, he did not do so with his wife). You're doing such a great thing by going to check on him & taking care of him. :) it might be tough, but it's definitely the right thing.

He actually ended up checking himself into a rehab/mental health clinic and getting sober, and he moved up to North Florida to live with my youngest sister for a while and get away from all the coke heads he knows in Tampa. Happy ending, so far!

My best friend OD'd almost ten years ago. I lost another friend to coke etc in 2007.

You said, "... I don't really know what the hell I'm doing. I don't know anything about drugs." I'd say, love him, help him, but don't believe everything he says.
