I love both of these, they have that Dickensian feel I think is so appropriate for the wee!chesters. Dean staring at the slinky is like Oliver asking for more gruel! ♥
I agree. The S1-S2 story is a bit less Oliver Twist and a bit more Great Expectations, though, I think. Guess who's your mysterious benefactor, Sammy!
But the pictures are ravishing. Sam looks too young to deliberately choose a book that will get on Dean's nerves, so I'm guessing he's reading Dean his own favorite book. The Green Fairy Book, perhaps?
Oh no, LJ just ate my comment! I was saying, SICK LITTLE DEEEEAN, he is so cute, all unhappy, and with his Sammeh reading to him all warmly and enthusiastically and completely not-bothered by Dean's protests if he's protesting. The facial expressions are amazing, the body language is amazing, and I love that they're both bundled up even though they're inside, because the place where they're staying is all drafty and cheap (in my head). The textures in the chair and the wallpaper... nice touch. I love that about your stuff, your use of textures. And the fact that these drawings totally evoke the kid!actors. It's like, IT'S REALLY THEM. ♥
Slinky!Dean is totally precious too! I love what you did with the glass, how there's that scratchy white situation, and how it looks like the other toys inside might be flying of their own accord, like that adds to the magic of the scene, which for Dean it does seem totally magical, and then the glowing slinky! Beautiful, beautiful.
Oh, stupid LJ! Thank you all the more for writing your most wonderful comment a second time! ♥ I don´t know what to say... you just blew me away with your grasp of all the little details and thoughts behind them! *beams*
The slinky´s actually intended to have something magical about it (it´s like the Holy Grail for Dean^^) - but I have to admit that the other toys are not magically hovering. They´re attached to strings but I guess they got swallowed up by the darkness and texture^^
And I love that you love my use of textures because I´m often afraid I´m overdoing it ;) But then again IMO (digital) SPN art shouldn´t be too "clean" and needs at least a minimum of texture and roughness ;)
Again: Thank you for the lovely, lovely feedback! ♥
