I have not heard of a single person buying a PS3 in order to play it -- okay only 1
......also the internets tell me lines across the nation are full of easily more than 90% people who are planning to ebay them

Who are buying all of these? I hope there are a lot of rich parents with a grand to spend on this system!

anyway -- I will be camping out this weekend for a Wii and I hope everyone comes out of this on top!!!

that's exactly what I asked Brendan! If everyone is buying these to sell them...they're gonna flood ebay with 100,000 PS3s and I doubt 100,000 of them will sell for $3000 each. Oh well, they might end up with PS3s, AND a Wii because Brendan is hoping to get one of those to actually play.

also keep in mind that the idiots that would spend 3000 on a game system are the same idiots that would want a PS3 to begin with. the system is already marketing itself to the idiot population, so why not take advantage of that?

then again, i live in a forest where the only games we play are 'find the cow', 'catch the chickens' and 'the game'...so perhaps my thinking is a bit elsewhere

and to whoever is spamming at the bottom of the page...it just worries me to think about what you could have done with that $850. thats a shit ton of money...you could have traveled to so many places, seen so many things, fed yourself for months...

Well that would be my boyfriend Brendan at the bottom of the page whom this entire thread has been about. The $635 for the PS3 came from selling a World of Warcraft account, an equally as insane sum of money for a virtual character. The plan was not to spent that money on a PS3 to play, it was to sell for profit and make at least double what he spent, which is still a lot of money which in turn would be put in the bank, not spent on more useless crap. The remainder of the money, for the Wii, was MY money, until Brendan finds a job and can pay me back. For that, our entertainment was worth me working for, what, 5 weeks part time at my job during school. As far as other things I could have done with that, yes I could have bought food, but I have food, or sponsored a child in Asia,but I didn't and yes I suppose that makes me a selfish American capitalist, or traveled one way to one of the states around the edge of the country, but I'd rather wait for my scholarship money to come in in about a month or so to travel somewhere

My mom works at Target, we were making fun of everyone waiting outside for 2 days to get ps3. She said everyone just kinda stared at all the weirdos coming in, and she said there's another shipment coming in later anyway.

dunno, if it makes a $2000 profit then getting laughed at wouldn't make much of a difference I guess. I also heard that yes, there is another shipment, but apparently it isn't until March or something ridiculous, but that's probably some rumor or something and who knows. Ohhh well Brendan got a Wii and we played it today and it is amazing. Yup. uh...amazing. Hopefully the ps3 will sell on ebay now, and then everything will be amazing I guess. Yup.
