Was Lyotard borrowing from Derrida?

well yes. lyotard's postmodern approach to the legitimation of knowledge is, in a sense, deconstructivist. but, i feel that lyotard's technique is more productive in dynamically constructing knowledge. derrida seems to just want to find a larger pattern (play of differences/differance) to order things in again.
